How to Remove Image Background
Use background-remove.online to get a transparent PNG in a few clicks. No registration required.
Upload your image
Go to the home page and click Upload Image, or drag and drop your photo. We support JPG, PNG, and WebP up to 12 MB.
Wait for processing
Our AI detects the subject and removes the background automatically. This usually takes a few seconds. You’ll see a progress bar while the image is processed.
Download the result
When processing is complete, click Download to save your image with a transparent background (PNG). Use it in designs, presentations, or e‑commerce. The file is ready to drop into any design tool or website.
You can process as many images as you need — there's no limit. Each one is handled separately, so you can work through a batch at your own pace.
What format to use
We accept JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 12 MB. Most photos from phones and cameras are already in one of these formats. If your image is in HEIC, RAW, or another format, convert it to JPG or PNG first using your device's photo app or an online converter. The result is always delivered as PNG with transparency — the standard format for images with transparent backgrounds, supported by all major design and office software.
For best results, use a clear photo where the subject stands out from the background. See our Image Requirements page for detailed tips on lighting, contrast, and framing.
After you download
Once you have your PNG, you can use it anywhere. Open it in Photoshop or Figma to refine edges or add effects. Paste it into PowerPoint or Google Slides for presentations. Upload it to your online store or social media. The transparent background means the image will blend with any color or layout behind it. If you need to adjust the cutout further, use the PNG as a layer in your favorite editor — the transparency is preserved.
Tips
