Most questions are about whether the tool is free, what formats we accept, and how to get the best result. We answer all of that here. Getting started

Is it really free?

Yes. You can remove backgrounds directly on our website for free, with no registration and no credit card. Everything we offer is free to use — we don't limit the number of images you can process. Use the tool as often as you need for personal or commercial projects. For more details, see our Pricing page.

What image formats are supported?

We accept JPG, PNG, and WebP. Maximum file size is 12 MB on the free tool. The result is always delivered as PNG with transparency, which you can use in any design software, presentation tool, or web project. If your image is in another format, convert it to JPG or PNG first using any image editor or online converter.

Privacy and data

Do you store my images?

Images are processed in memory to provide the result. We do not use them for training AI models or keep them longer than necessary to deliver your PNG. We don't sell or license your content to third parties. For full details on how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy and Security page.

Results and quality

The result doesn't look right. What can I do?

Our AI works best with clear photos where the subject is distinct from the background. For better results, try a higher-contrast image, ensure the subject is in focus, and avoid very busy or similar-colored backgrounds. If the edges aren't perfect, you can open the PNG in an editor like Pixlr to refine the mask. For more tips, see Image Requirements.

Commercial use and technical

Can I use this for commercial projects?

Yes. You keep the rights to your images and the output. Use the result in line with our Terms of Service. Make sure you have the right to use the original image — for example, if it's a photo of a person, you may need their permission for commercial use. The tool itself does not add watermarks or restrict commercial use of the result.

How do I use the API?
